Society

ARTEMIS collaborates with selected partners to ensure that vulnerable populations affected by poverty have access to essential goods and services. Actively working to identify ways to improve their living conditions, ARTEMIS is committed to safeguarding the wellbeing of these communities by ensuring access to basic necessities, including food, shelter, and medical care.

Through strategic partnerships, ARTEMIS develops programmes aimed at providing relief and addressing food insecurity across Greece in a sustainable and effective manner. These initiatives go beyond basic food provision by tackling two critical challenges: first, ensuring access to high-quality nutrition to minimise food insecurity and improve overall health, and second, addressing the growing concern of food waste, which has significant implications for both food security and the environment in Greece.

Food aid

ARTEMIS supports food aid programmes in Athens, providing vulnerable individuals and families with regular access to nutritious meals. Through ARTEMIS’ support of the Agia Zoni Church in Kypseli and the Agios Loukas Church in Patisia – two of Athens’ most diverse and densely populated areas – approximately 200 individuals, including many children, families and elderly people, benefit daily from these initiatives.

As a result of ARTEMIS’ involvement, these food aid programmes have introduced healthier, nutrient-rich meal options, contributing to the overall health and wellbeing of their communities. Additionally, by ensuring a stable monthly supply of food items, ARTEMIS has enabled these programmes to expand their focus to address other critical needs such as medical care, shelter, and social services.
